Wes took me to the next level. Wes’s attention to detail and personal coaching is what allowed me compete at a high level, from qualifying and competing as an amateur triathlete on team USA at the ITU world championships, to running my first marathon in which I qualified for Boston. Wes was someone I could lean on anytime for advice and emotional support, balancing a full time job, and a family he understands what it’s like for the typical age grouper and he helped me find balance in my life making this a sustainable lifestyle. He was not only a coach, but a friend and an inspiration!

Wes: In addition to being an all-around great guy and coach, the qualities that really stood out to me were his willingness to personalize a training plan around my hectic work schedule and old injuries. Wes understands that everyone has different goals, schedules, and limitations, and he works within your schedule to help you achieve your best. Wes always knows when to push you and how to motivate you but he also knows when to ease up to avoid injury and burnout.

Wes has been great to work with, the best triathlon related money I’ve spent! The amount of time he puts in with you between working on pre-season goals, building a training plan to try to meet those goals, and then communicating with you during the year, Wes more than earns what he charges. He does a great job of laying out a training plan that will work with the amount of hours per week you have available. I particularly like that he will lay out 3 week blocks at a time so I could see what was coming the next month. He also would monitor my workouts and check in to make sure things were going ok if I would have an off couple of days.  As far as communication: he is very quick to respond to my e-mails or texts when I had questions about a workout. I started with Wes pretty much at the beginning of doing triathlons and he never made me feel ignorant even when I asked basic level questions. Probably the best thing about being and AMP athlete is that you work with a coach who genuinely cares about not only your performance, but you as a person. He understands that there is more to life than training. That isn’t to say he won’t kick you in your rear when you need that extra bit of motivation but I also never felt that there was no room to question why I was doing a certain workout, and when asked he would take the time to explain the reasoning behind what I was doing, helping me understand the big picture. I can’t recommend Wes enough!
